REGULAR AUCTIONS AT HADDENHAM, CAMBRIDGESHIRE
Our popular Friday sales are held twice a month at Haddenham (off the A10 between Cambridge and Ely), and usually consist of an eclectic mix of Antiques, Collectables, Curios, Jewellery, Watches, Musical Instruments, Rural Bygones, Decorative Items, small Furniture, modern Household Effects, Tools & Garden Items, and so on – as well as an eclectic mix of buyers! They are traditional “bring and sell” auctions – we list whatever turns up (subject to legal constraints) on the day prior to the sale, and sell it – the auctions usually comprise around 400 lots per sale, including everything from Jewellery, Watches, Ceramics, antique and quality modern small Furniture, Household goods, Pictures, Curios, Collectables, vintage Toys, and so on.

How to Enter Items for Sale
Entries are always welcomed! Simply bring along your items to the Arkenstall Centre in Haddenham (there is free parking onsite) on the day before the Auction between 9.30am and 12noon, and list them on our standard Entry Form. We will give you a full duplicate receipt, and then your lots will be listed, photographed and entered onto our computerised accounts system (and uploaded to the internet).
If you have a large number of items to sell, or larger furniture items, we can assist with a local collection service should you need it (up to whole property contents, with some exceptions) which is charged “at cost”.
If you are unsure of likely sale value, or whether a particular item is suitable for sale, please don’t hesitate to ask. Simply pop along on the Thursday morning prior to sale and we’ll be pleased to give no-obligation advice, alternatively you can contact us online or by email/phone.
What can be sold?
All entries are invited and anything is accepted for these sales, provided that all items comply with the relevant statutory requirements (please note that there are some restrictions on soft furnishings and potentially dangerous items, and all electrical items are subject to pre-sale safety testing at a small charge of £3 per item). The only proviso is that we request unsold lots are removed by close of business on the day of the auction unless by prior arrangement – we’re always more than happy to call you during the sale to let you know whether or not your lots have sold so you know whether you need to collect anything.

What are the charges?
There are no entry or lotting fees to pay, and commission is charged as a simple percentage of the sale price (currently charged at 18%, plus VAT, subject to a minimum commission of £1 on each lot whether sold or unsold). As mentioned above, there is a small additional charge to undertake safety testing of electrical items. Vendor (seller) payments are made within seven days, with a full statement breakdown of the prices realised and charges incurred; alternatively, why not come along and enjoy the fun on sale day, and you can collect your proceeds on the day!
Come to the Auction!
Auction day is great fun, and bargains may be had – we offer refreshments throughout the day, and sellers may collect their proceeds on sale day (subject to receipt of payment). An online catalogue is available from our website on the evening prior to the sale, for prospective bidders to view, and the saleroom is open for viewing in person 9.30am on the morning of the sale, with the Auction starting at 10.30am. All major Debit Cards are accepted on sale days.
