Our General Auctions are held twice monthly, usually on the second and last Friday of the month, at the Arkenstall Centre in Haddenham, Cambridgeshire, which lends itself ideally for our sales. Private entries are accepted at the venue on the day prior to the auction (the Thursday) from 9.30-11.30am. We also offer a competitively-priced local collection service (from a single item to complete house clearance) on request, and at your convenience. A hand-written receipt is issued for items consigned; all lots are later entered onto our computerised auction accounts system and photographed. A list of lots is produced for these auctions, and this is available on our website together with photographs of all lots on the evening prior to the auction to allow bidders to view the items and submit bids if they are unable to attend the sale. There is a viewing period on sale day (9.30am onwards) prior to the auction commencing at 10.30am. On auction day, a computerised statement is produced for all sellers, detailing the hammer (selling) price for each item with a breakdown of charges (vendors are requested to make prior arrangements to collect any unsold items on the day of the auction wherever possible). Cheques for general sales are issued within seven days of the auction, although sellers may collect cash by prior arrangement on the day of the auction.
ANTIQUES & COLLECTABLES AUCTIONS
Held bi-monthly, our Antiques & Collectables Auctions are held online (via the-saleroom.com), with all bidding taking place online. This allows us to reach out to a global audience. All lots in these sales are collected in advance of the auction, to allow the production of a fully-detailed and illustrated online Catalogue (together with a printed version) and suitable pre-sale marketing. Entries typically include Antiques, Collectables, Paintings, and so on; these are accepted either by appointment with one of our valuers, or by bringing them along to one of our General Sale consignment days, or to one of the regular Valuation Days we hold in the local area. Initial appraisals may be conducted by email, by sending digital images of items being considered for sale.
PLANT & MACHINERY AUCTIONS
These sales are held as timed online-only auctions, approximately every month. Entries are accepted by arrangement both locally and nationally for these sales, with the majority of lots being offered and sold in situ at multiple sites across the UK; this approach reduces transport costs for sellers. All auctions are held on the i-bidder.com and bidspotter.com websites, reaching a large national and international proven customer base.
